A complete list of tests and treatments will be available in the
upcoming book Surviving Martial Arts.
General Vastus Test
Here is a simple test to look for problems with
any of the vastus muscles.
- Put patient on back.
- With knee flexed and thigh at 90 degrees, bring heel to buttock.
- Note point where resistance is felt.
Good: No restriction: If the heel reaches
the buttock with no resistance, the vastus muscles are probably
OK.
Not so Good: If the heel cannot reach
the buttock and resistance is felt, there may be restriction in
the vastus muscles. Look for trigger points.
